Glenbrook Railway

Glenbrook Station Road, Waiuku, Franklin, Greater Auckland

Sundays (and Public Holidays)

10.00am - 4.00pm

Smell the coal, see the steam billowing from the funnels – take an authentic steam train ride in the countryside.  Choose an indoor or open air carriage (depending on the weather) or have a go at working the hand jiggers back at the Glenbrook Railway Station

Board the train at the Glenbrook Railway Station (just 20 minutes from the Pukekohe off ramp in Waiuku) and settle in for the ride.

You’ll head about 12km along the track through the countryside and will take about 45 minutes. The train operates on Sundays and most public holidays in season - which starts late October (Labour Weekend) and runs through to early June (Queens Birthday).

The gates open at 10am on operating days and trains run on the hour. Check the Glenbrook Railway website for more visitor information.

We Reckon | You’ll experience the full to-do, with your guard in vintage uniform clipping your ticket, and the glorious chugging and whistling of the locomotive in action. It was heaps of fun (oh yeah, and the kids enjoyed it too).
