A nice surprise, right in the middle of nowhere it seems! The Mangapohue Natural Bridge is a massive limestone arch, just minutes from the roadside.
It will only take around 5 minutes on a well formed path to reach this natural limestone arch. Regardless of the weather, it's safe and with the wooden viewing platform, easy access for great photos.
Keep walking however, and you'll find yourself on loop walk which will take you over farmland (following markers) to check some 30 million year old fossil oysters showing in the rocks.
We Reckon | The archway was massive, and the oyster shells in the rocks are pretty HUGE too. You'll be sharing this section of the path with livestock, so avoid the cowpats and stick to the path (as it can get muddy/slushy after rain).
