Details: Discover some Maori Rock Art in two accessible sites in Duntroon. One site, Takiroa, can be found 3kms west of Duntroon (along State Highway 83) with some pre-European rock art drawings in red and black. Another site is about 500 metres south of Duntroon, on the road to Dansey's Pass. You'll have to climb uphill to reach a large limestone overhang which has great drawings right along its length. We Reckon | The Takiroa site is road side, so very hard to miss. Not only is the artwork interesting (although unfortunately behind grates for security) the cliffs themselves are awesome. You may have heard of a disrespectful tourist in 2010 who climbed the fence for a close-up photo, then uploaded it on YouTube. Don't.
